SUMMARY:Heart O' Dixie Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:The 46th edition of the Heart O’ Dixie Triathlon will be held on Saturday June 20th\, 2026 – during the Neshoba County Fair. The race begins at 6:30 a.m. with a 1/2 mile swim in Lake Tiak O’Khata in Louisville\, MS –  followed by a 27 mile bike ride down hwy 15 into Philadelphia\, MS –  it concludes with a 6.5 mile run finishing on the horse racing track at the historic Neshoba County Fairgrounds. The first Heart O’ Dixie Triathlon was held in 1980 not long after the first modern swim/bike/run Triathlon event was held at Mission Bay in San Diego\, California in 1974.  The Heart O’ Dixie Triathlon is one of the longest running triathlons in the United States. We invite you to come experience one of the most unique\, yet thrilling triathlons in the U.S.\nSchedule of Events \n\n\nFriday\, June 19th \n4:00 PM:    Packet pickup begins inside Lake Tiak-O’ Khata Inn \n6:30 PM:    Pre-Race Meeting inside Lake Tiak-O’ Khata Inn (consider this required – this is where any updated/new information will be discussed and important reminders mentioned – there will be a new swim start location and format for 2026 which will be discussed at this meeting)  \n7:00 PM:    Packet pickup ends (packet pickup will be available for 15 minutes after the pre-race meeting for those who arrived during the meeting) \n\nYour timing chip will be located inside your packet. So there is no seperate pickup for your timing chip.\nPlease note: there will be no packet pickup during the pre-race meeting\, you will have time to get it after the meeting concludes. \nThere is an open buffet meal provided (for a fee) by Lake Tiak-O’ Khata Inn\, it is usually a pasta meal  that is appropriate for our athletes. \n\nSaturday\, June 20th (RACE DAY) \n5:15 AM:    Packet Pick-up begins inside Lake Tiak-O’ Khata Inn \n5:15 AM:    Transition area open \n6:10 AM:    Packet pick-up closes \n6:30 AM:     Race start \n11:00 AM:   Race Course Closes \n11:00 AM:   Awards Ceremony at the Neshoba County Fair Grandstands \n11:30 AM:   Bus transport from Neshoba County Fair (finish line) back to Lake Tiak-O’Khata (race start location) \n2:00 PM:     Transition areas 1 and 2 close. All swim gear and bikes should be picked up by this time. After 2:00 p.m the security personnel will no longer be securing transition 2 and your bike will be left to defend itself! All gear that is left at the swim-bike transition area\, after 2:00 p.m. will be collected and can not be guaranteed for return as the race committee has to have all things cleaned up at Lake Tiak-O’ Khata by 2:00 p.m. or else fined. We understand our participants want to enjoy all the Neshoba County Fair has to offer but please pay close attention to time and allow yourself time to retrieve your belongings before 2:00 p.m. \n\n\nRegister
