Hannah Pote Run for Education 5K & 1 mile fun run

Hannah Pote was an outstanding SHS student athlete who was tragically killed in a car accident on December 18, 1997. This race was established to honor Hannah’s tremendous spirit and love of Starkville High School. Funds raised will directly support teacher and special school project grants within the Starkville Oktibbeha School District

Race start at 8:00 am

Registration Information

Online registration is available through Thursday, August 13. Race day registration is available on the morning of the race between 6:45 – 7:45 (5K cost is $30 for all, 1 mile run cost is $10).

The Course 

The certified 5K features a very flat, fast road course with traffic control and starts at 8:00.
The 1-mile fun run is closed to traffic on a flat, out and back course and starts at 9:00.
Proceeds benefit the Starkville Foundation for Public Education.

Packet Pick-Up

Packet pickup day of race only – at race site between 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.

Awards 

The overall male & female and overall male & female masters
will be awarded a trophy.

1st, 2nd, 3rd place will be awarded in the following categories:

10 and under
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60-69
70 and above

All 1 Mile Fun Run finishers will receive a medal.

Event schedule 

  • 6:45 AM – Registration begins ($30 on race day)
  • 7:45 AM – Registration ends
  •  8:00 AM – 5K starts
  • 9:00 AM – 1 mile fun run starts
